Here's where I get to show my sponsors a little love.

Wife Holly

Holly has been my #1 Sponsor and Supporter since my triathlon career became more than a hobby.  I can say, without a doubt, that triathlon would still be a hobby (at best) without her.  With her help and with God's blessing, TriKirk and TriKirk Coaching has exceeded all dreams and expectations I could have had, just two years into this journey.

Colorado Multisport

Colorado Multisport is designed to cater to multisport athletes of every level. Our roots are in the community of athletes in Boulder, regardless of level. The achievements of this community continue to amaze us, and we can think of no better way to serve them than through Colorado Multisport.

Triathlon is not a passing fad, nor is it simply an opportunity for a local bike shop to make a quick buck. Multisport athletes in Boulder deserve a place to go where their tremendous athleticism and commitment are respected and indulged. We have created that place.

Colorado Multisport has an exclusive relationship with Sports Garage, which has become the premier cycling resource in Boulder. Their unparalleled level of mechanical expertise and world-leading fitting rapport is part of every experience at Colorado Multisport. Sports Garage opened in 1994 with the approach that service, both personal and mechanical, always comes first. Chris Jacobson and Nick Howe, owners of Sports Garage since 2003, are legends in the Front Range cycling community and have elevated Sports Garage into the one of the best shops in the country as recognized by national magazines and the industry.

Newly opened Colorado Multisport is Boulder’s very first and only triathlon/multisport store.  MainMan Tim Troha specializes in triathlon/Time-Trial bike fitting.  With a great selection of triathlon bikes including the Orbea Ordu, triathlon apparel, race wheels, cycling shoes, nutrition products, and Aquaman Triathlon wetsuits, Colorado Multisport has nearly everything you need to get ready for the upcoming season or your next race.  They even rent out race wheels for the weekend and allow you to apply your rental fee toward the purchase of a set of race wheels.

Colorado Multisport is located at 2705A Spruce St., Boulder, CO 80302.  (303) 865-4604

Orbea

I will be racing on an Orbea Ordu in 2006 and could not be happier.  Extremely aero, stiff, and comfortable, the Ordu is making a big impact in the triathlon world in just its first year.  Full Carbon with large rear wheel cut-out, the Ordu comes complete with Profile Carbon X, Rolf Vigor, and full Dura Ace for just $5,500.  This bike handles as well as most road bikes on descents and corners, climbs well with an extremely high power transfer efficiency, and is the most aero frame I have ever ridden.  Throw on a pair of ZIPP 808s, 909, or 999 wheelset and you have a speed demon that rolls down the road with extreme ease and gracefulness.

SRAM

Thanks to SRAM, I get to ride the world's fastest, lightest, and most innovative road component group, SRAM Red, this season!!  The only downside to riding the best and most reliable equipment available????  No more excuses.......

Will YOU make the Leap this season?

ZIPP Speed Weaponry

ZIPP is the premier carbon wheel manufacturer in the world.  ZIPP is constantly raising the bar in wheel aerodynamics and technology.  ZIPP wheels are not only aerodynamic, they are extremely light and stiff and are built up in ZIPP’s factory using only the best hubs, spokes, and composite materials.   ZIPP is the only wheel manufacturer to offer the patented dimple technology.

The ZIPP 606 wheelset offers great versatility if you are looking for great all-around use.  The 999 set is perfect for calm, flatter, non-technical courses and is the fastest wheelset known to man.

Aquaman Triathlon Wetsuits

Aquaman Wetsuits are simply the best out there.  With a more anatomical cut, special material that is less water absorbent, and an in-genius reverse zipper design, Aquaman Wetsuits are head and shoulders above the rest.

The new AQUAMAN Triathlon wetsuit is rocking the world of Triathlon . We have succeeded in rendering a high performing wetsuit currently unmatched on the Market . We are talking about a breakthrough in the Technology of Wetsuit manufacturing.  Almost zero water retention and a truly lighter and warmer second skin.

Boulder’s retailer of Aquaman Wetsuits is Colorado Multisport.  Colorado Multisport is located at 2705A Spruce St., Boulder, CO 80302.  Call Tim today at (303) 865-4604 to try out an Aquaman wetsuit.

Bull & Crowley MediaWorks

How do I maintain a fabulous website AND manage to train 30 hours and coach 20 hours per week? Simple -- Aaron and Adam of Bull and Crowley Media Works.  Bull and Crowley Media Works have built and maintain my websites, trikirk.com, and trikirkcoaching.com.  Like what you see here?  Check them out for all your web designing needs, whether it's personal, business, or other.

North Boulder Chiropractic

Dr. David Boynton is a competitive cyclist and Chiropractor whose practice, North Boulder Chiropractic, is updated with the most advanced equipment in chiropractic care.  Dr. Boynton has extensive knowledge and experience with athletes, weekend hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts.  Specifically, he has been helping me out with some muscle firing issues, and intense neck pains experienced during long rides.  Through his care, I have already noticed exceptional improvements in strength, and reduction of neck pain while riding.

Boulder Performance Lab

Jason Smith of BPL  is not just a smart guy who knows the ins and outs of physiology lab testing, he's an athlete just like you and me!  Together, Jason's athletic experience, educational background, and eagerness to please provide a very comfortable and enjoyable testing atmosphere.  Jason tailors the testing environment and testing protocol to suit your individual, unique needs.  One of the best parts of bike testing at BPL?  You get to use your very OWN bike and your OWN power meter (if you have one) during the test!!!  No more hassling with other labs' junky all-but-my-size "size cycle" huffy that doesn't have the glove-fit your own bike offers!!  Additionally, the power numbers you receive when you leave BPL will be specific to the power device you train and race on (no conversion guesswork required)!!  What I once considered to be a nerve-racking process, I actually look forward to physiology testing now because Jason is always as, or more excited about doing testing than me!

Sport Beans/NTTC

After an eleven year hiatus from triathlon, the National Triathlon Training Camp is once again seeing its athletes on the podium. Whether you are in the heat of competition during a triathlon, out for a leisurely ride or enjoying a hike in the mountains fuel yourself with the portable power of Jelly Belly's Sport Beans.

Jelly Belly returns in 2008 as the title sponsor of Team Sport Beans/NTTC.

Team Sport Beans/NTTC is an Official Club of USA Triathlon.  While team members are not required to maintain a current USA Triathlon (USAT) license, we strongly encourage it.  An annual or one-day USAT license is required at all USAT sanctioned events.  For more information on USAT membership and benefits, please click here.

Without Limits

Without Limits Performance Triathlon Coach, Lance Panigutti, does a lot.......  In addition to being a top-notch triathlon and swim coach, he is also a professional triathleterace director, and Life Guard Instructor.  While solid in coaching (and doing) all triathlon disciplines, Lance has an exceptional gift for coaching the swim.  Lance has been coaching my swim since August, 2007.  In a span of just 8 months, I have gone from swimming 1:22/100 yards down to 1:15/100 yards for base/aerobic swimming!  In addition, my fastest 100 yard swim split (pushing off the wall) has dropped a whopping 9 seconds!!!  Anyone who has followed my first two years of professional racing knows that the swim has always held me back (as in back of the 3rd or 4th swim pack!).  That's all about to change in 2008 with Lance's help!!!  (In the first race of the 2008 season, Kirk led the first men's (39 and under Males) pack out of the water at the Havasu Triathlon.  Kirk went on to win by a margin of nearly 4 minutes)

Tri-Massage

Tri-Massage Therapists, Josh Shadle and Katie Sandmeyer keep me training hard rather than hardly training because of over-fatigued, tight muscles.  Tri-Massage specializes in deep tissue work which is exactly what I need following a tough week of training.

Rotor Cranks

I began riding Q-rings in December, 2006.  I first put them on my Triathlon bike and have since put them on both my road and mountain bikes.  Rotor Q-Rings help to minimize the time spent in the dead spot while pedaling. While oval chainrings have historically been controversial, we believe that allowing a rider to fine tune the chainring position offers opportunities to minimize the dead spot never before realized with conventional chainrings.  In my first test on the Q-rings, I increased my Lactate Threshold watts from 286 to 312 and lowered my average Heartrate from 163 to 161.  I could have gone harder but was intimidated by seeing the 300+ watt numbers!  In addition to the Q-rings, I have put the Rotor Cranks Agilis cranksets on both my road and mountain bikes.  I was skeptical of Q-rings for 2 years before finally deciding to try them this year.  No regrets and this is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of what Q-rings are going to do for me!

JR Ironbody

JR Rosania, of JR Ironbody, has taken over my strength/resistance training program as of February, 2007.  As an athlete, JR has several years of training and racing experience, including competing in over 130 triathlons (17 IM, 23 Half-IM), 5 marathons, and numerous cycling events.  As a coach, JR trains Olympic, professional, and amateur athletes alike, and specializes in training triathletes and swimmers.  He has a very unique and specialized approach to training triathletes.  JR has developed and uses very triathlon specific resistance exercises, most of which can be found on his dvd, "The Power: Strength and Conditioning for Triathletes."  After a month of being on JR's strength training program, I have noticed significant improvements in my ability to recover from multiple long/hard training sessions, and I feel that my endurance during the late stages of very long sessions has been significanly improved.  Additionally, my force has improved in all three sports, allowing me to swim more powerfully, TT at greater wattage, and run at a fast pace without breaking form.  In addition to being a great strength training coach, JR is a fantastic person, with a heart for ministry.  Learn more about JR and his Strength Training program, JR Ironbody, at www.jrironbody.com.

ICTN, International Christian Triathlon Network

The International Christian Triathlon Network (ICTN) is a network of Christian Triathletes.  Within the network are organized Christian Triathlon Ministries (such as Athletes In Action, PowerBreak, FCA Endurance, IronPrayer, and others).  The ICTN makes up a large portion of my triathlon family, for which I am very thankful!  Together, the ICTN puts on an annual triathlon camp held in the Phoenix, AZ area.

Fuel Belt

I am very gracious to have FuelBelt as a sponsor for 2006.  In addition to handling all of your hydration and nutritional transport needs, they produce walking/trekking poles, waist packs, race number belts, chip straps, mp3 holders, visors, LED flashing dog harnesses and much much much more!

If you’re running over an hour, staying hydrated and getting calories is key in maintaining a constant effort and exercising efficiently throughout the entire workout.  You know how annoying it can be to carry a water bottle or gel flask in your hand during a workout.  With FuelBelt, you don’t even know you’re wearing the belt (until your body tells you it’s time to drink or eat).  I train with one on all my runs over 60 minutes and have never used anything that fits and is manufactured better.

Tufo Tires

Tufo makes the best and lightest tubular and tubular clincher tires.  With Tufo Gluing tape you are guaranteed a great tire-to-rim seal that works for gluing any tubular tire, not just Tufo tires.  When your luck turns bad, Tufo's tire sealant has allowed me to finish races when I otherwise would have been left on the side of the road waiting for the sag wagon.

I race on Tufo Elite Jet tubulars for all Triathlon distances.

ProTech Skincare

When training for, or competing in long course triathlon events, I need a skincare product that will endure the intense Colorado sun under the most extreme weather conditions. Often exposed to the elements for prolonged periods, I need protection from the sun's rays that lasts throughout the day without the need to reapply over and over again. I also need something water-proof that will endure the swim portion of a race or training session. Working out in hot conditions also requires that it be sweat-proof.

While some skincare products meet these demands many are too oily, irritate sensitive skin, burn when being applied, cause clogging of pores, or prohibit my skin from breathing naturally. Only ProTech Skincare offers true all-around comfort and skin moisturization in addition to its superior protection qualities. I find the convenience of ProTech Daypacks to be perfect for long rides, hikes, skiing, and traveling. They are a must for any outdoor enthusiast!
