Kirk Joins Atheletes in Action, Triathlon Division

Athletes In Action (AIA) is a division of Campus Crusade for Christ, focusing on sports Ministry. Athletes In Action Triathlon was started in ~2002 by Tom Keeley.

Athletes In Action Triathlon, a triathlon club sanctioned by USA Triathlon, is a Christian organization that is committed to helping athletes reach their full potential as well as share the Good News of God's love and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Having worked with amateur and professional athletes in the U.S. and around the world since 1968, AIA utilizes Biblical principles to promote excellence in sports competition and development of individuals in the physical, mental, and spiritual areas of their lives. Check out www.aiatriathlon.com to find out how you can get involved in making your experience "more than just a triathlon."

My AIA Triathlon ministry is based in the greater Denver, CO area, specifically the Longmont/Boulder area. As the CU Triathlon team head coach, I have been leading a bible study within the CU Triathlon team since 2005 that is expanding to other local young and upcoming triathletes (pros and amateurs alike). In addition to meeting weekly on Wednesday nights, our group serves at local triathlon events, 5430 series triathlons, and in other fun and unique ways within the community. With God’s blessing, the ministry has the potential to expand to local Longmont and Boulder church(es) to grow our presence in the Boulder/Longmont area.

The ministry, however, goes beyond affecting just local triathletes. As a Team Sport Beans/NTTC Professional Triathlete and USAT Level I Certified coach, I compete, speak at, and attend national and international triathlon events (see my race schedule). Non-local engagements include speaking and racing at the Terre Haute, IN, Triathlon, May 19-20, in Terre Haute, attending the International Christian Triathlon Network (ICTN) annual camp as a camper, coach, and pro triathlete, speaking and attending IronPrayer Services throughout the country, and working with AIA staff at race expos to visit with and disciple triathletes at races.

As AIA Triathlon Affiliate Staff, I am working to raise monetary and prayer support for my AIA ministry. As a non-profit group, your donations to the ministry are tax deductable. Financial support will help with ministry expenses like travel, board, food, racing expenses, etc. If you would like to learn more about how to support or become a part of this ministry, you can contact me directly via email, kirk at trikirk.com (don’t copy this address, but type without spaces), or by contacting AIA Triathlon Director and supervisor, Tom Keeley, keeley8 at hotmail.com (don’t copy this address, but type without spaces).

If you are interested in providing prayer support for this ministry, you can pray specifically for wisdom and discipline in hearing and obeying God. Also pray for our CU bible study group and the team, that we may spread God’s Love and the Gospel to non-believers on the team and around campus. You can pray for me and my wife for God’s blessings on our marriage and for all the ingredients necessary to strengthen and deepen our faith and dependency on each another. Additionally, please pray for my own personal strength and wisdom as a coach, athlete, son, and husband. Let me be a beacon of God’s unending light, an inspiration, and encourager to my athletes. Your financial and prayer support are greatly appreciated!

Running for Him,

Kirk and AIA Triathlon
